Ex-Professional cyclists Dan Lloyd and Simon Richardson sip on a glass of wine and talk you through what you need to know about L'enfer du Nord.

Important info to be aware of is the length of the race is 257km with 55km of cobbles, equalling 21% of the race on "loaf-of-bread-like" 29 sectors of cobblestones.

The race doesn't really start in Paris, it starts in Compiègne, 80km north of Paris.

Key sectors of pavé include the first sector Troisvilles to Inchy, which there is always a charge into by the peloton.
Following on from that there is Trouée d'Arenberg / Tranchée d'Arenberg which is 2.4km in length with a difficulty rating of 5stars out of a maximum of 5! It is brutal and very often pivotal for the race. The riders hit this sector flat out at the entrance and is lined with thousands of spectators.
Following on from that there are plenty more cobbled sectors including the fearsome duo of Mons-en-Pévèle and Carrefour de l'Arbre / Pavé de Luchin.

Tactics are often planned but the sectors can put an end to any plans due to the high risk of mechanical issues. The early breakaway is often a big advantage for a rider as they can go on and finish in a good position at the end of the race.

Dan and Simon's favourites for the win this year are:
- Tom Boonen who will attempt to become the record holder with 5 victories at the event.
- Peter Sagan
- Greg Van Avermaert
- Niki Terpstra
- John Degenkolb
- Alexander Kristoff
- Matt Hayman
- Arnaud Démare

However, the predictions from the presenters are as follows:
Dan Lloyd - Peter Sagan
Simon Richardson - Tom Boonen
Lasty -Tony Martin
GCN Social Jon - Luke Rowe
GMBN Prediction - Nikolas Maes
