Zwift's indoor trainer is now more affordable than ever
Indoor training brand Zwift has recently dropped the price of its indoor trainer, the Hub One. This comes after news broke earlier this month that Zwift and Wahoo had furthered their partnership by offering the Zwift Cog as an option on the Wahoo Kickr Core giving the trainer the catchy name of the Wahoo Kickr Core Zwift One.
The Zwift Hub One is now the only indoor trainer that Zwift offers, with the original Zwift Hub discontinued towards the end of last year. If you are a user of the original trainer, Zwift is confident that after-market support for the trainer will continue unhindered.

With the Zwift Hub One using the ‘Zwift Cog’ it has opened up indoor training to an even wider audience. The single cog allows for bikes from 8-speed through to 12-speed to be fitted to the trainer with no need for any tools or adjustments. This is ideal for anyone who wants to use multiple bikes on the same trainer with potentially different spec drivetrains.

The Zwift Hub One makes use of a remote shifter that can be used to simulate 24 'virtual' gears
Instead of using a standard cassette to vary the resistance, much like you would on the road, the Zwift Hub One uses a virtual shifter called the Zwift Click. This can simulate a full complement of 24 gears that can be configured to mimic the gearing you have on your bike. The advantage of this setup is that there is no need to replace an expensive cassette on your trainer.

The price reduction has taken the Zwift Hub One underneath the £500 threshold, making it a very attractive option for the more budget-orientated end of the market. The original price of the unit was £549.99 / $599.99 / €599.99 with the reduction setting a new price of £450 / $500 / €500.
Does this price drop make you consider getting one for your pain cave?
