The matte version of this limited edition C68 is a one of a kind with no other in existence
Colnago is known for the beautiful special edition bikes it creates. A one-of-a-kind design prototype is currently up for auction and expected to reach an eye-watering price tag.
In November 2022 the brand released a limited run of C68 bikes that had been designed by Motoki Yoshio, a Japanese artist who bases himself in Italy. As part of the design process, Colnago was keen to try out the designs on real bikes so they could decide which design was best.

Ultimately the brand decided to go with a gloss finish for the limited run models
As part of this process, the bikes were trialled with both a matte and gloss finish. Ultimately the brand decided to go for the gloss finish meaning that this prototype matte version is the only one in existence.
For the auction, it has been fitted out with the latest generation Campagnolo Super Record Wireless groupset and a pair of Bora Ultra wheels.
For those who are interested in the bike, it's worth highlighting that it is a size 51cm, ruling it out as a cafe bike for most prospective buyers. Whoever the new owner is will also be issued with a blockchain-enabled proof of ownership to certify that the bike is a true one-of-a-kind with no other bikes in that colourway in existence.
