The Vamoots 33 is a bike that looks to span the full spectrum of road riding
Titanium bike manufacturer Moots has created an all-road bike aimed at combining the heritage and knowledge gained from its predecessors. The new bike, as Moots has put it, aims to be a “Jack of all trades, master of fun”, able to turn its hand to whatever type of riding you fancy on any given day.
This is part of the growing trend in road bike manufacture, in which 'versatility' is the term on everyone's lips. For a lot of us out there, having a bike that is excellent at one specific style of riding is no longer good enough. Collectively, we are becoming more curious and adventurous riders, looking to seek out fresh challenges in new settings. This is where the all-road bike comes in with the characteristics of an endurance road bike but with added tyre clearance.

Moots has said that the “Vamoots 33 redefines the concept of ‘Allroad’ cycling. Whether you prefer supple and smooth road tires for a plush ride or find yourself facing challenging weather that demands full-coverage fenders, the Vamoots 33 is designed to check those boxes.”
The frame is design and built in the USA with American-sourced materials
As you would expect from Moots, the frame is made from Titanium paired with a carbon fibre fork. Although Moots did make a first foray into carbon fibre frames last year with the brand's first-ever e-bike, the brand is sticking to its roots with the Vamoots 33.
The brand has said that the Vamoots 33 “incorporates DNA inherited from each preceding model. A respectful nod to the Vamoots, Vamoots SL, Vamoots CR, Vamoots RSL, Vamoots Disc RSL, and even the more recent Vamoots CRD and Vamoots RCS.”
As for the name of the bike, it gets that from a country road only a stone's throw away from the Moots headquarters in Steamboat, Colorado. The name and the road are indications of the bike's intentions: “This bike is right at home on surfaces ranging from fresh tarmac to chip seal and tempting dirt off-shoots that might lead to buried treasure or a pot of gold.”
The frame and fork are both compatible with full-length fenders, making it an ideal all-year-round adventure steed that will have your back when the heavens open. It also boasts a rather generous 38c tyre clearance allowing you to run some fairly high-volume rubber that will allow riders to fit a range of tyres from fast summer road tyres through to the start of the gravel spectrum of tyres.
One of the things that Moots has always prided itself on is that the whole process of its bikes from design to manufacture is done in-house within the USA. The Vamoots 33 continues on this theme, with the brand even using titanium sourced from the USA. Moots claims that this, “guarantees a magical ride."
