The Vibe On features an integrated visor

Helmet manufacturer MET has just released two new helmets to its line-up in the shape of the Vibe and Vibe On. Both helmets are aimed at combining functionality with style, with MET claiming this to be “the holy grail of every cyclist".

Both helmets use MIPS-C2 brain protection system, which allows the outer shell to slide relative to the head in case of a crash, and redirect damaging rotational motion. MET say that, “MIPS is a rotational management system engineered to add protection to the standard construction of helmets in case of certain impacts.”

The key differentiating factor between the Vibe and the Vibe On is that the latter features an adjustable, integrated visor designed to keep dirt, insects and wind out of your eyes whilst riding.

Both helmets follow on from the E-Mob that launched last year in that they are certified to NTA 8776 safety specifications. This specification tests helmets to a higher level of impact associated with the specific demands of riding e-bikes and goes beyond typical EN1078 safety requirements of regular helmets.

Explaining more about the certification MET state, “Recognising the higher speed and greater energy released upon impact if a crash occurs while riding an e-bike, this certification means this helmet can help to dissipate energy more efficiently than standard helmets.”

MET has included a neat rear-facing light that fits to the back panel of both helmets. The light can be recharged via USB. It can also be removed when not wanted or to make charging easier, as it is held in place with a rubberised strap.

The new helmets come in three sizes S (52-56cm) / M (56-58cm) / L (58-61cm) and a wide range of colourways.
