Canyon announces new Inflite as the 'new benchmark cyclocross bike'

Based on the bike that took Mathieu van der Poel to 2023 World Championships victory, the new Inflite CF SLX range features all-new cable routing and aero cockpits

With five World Championship victories to its name, the Canyon Inflite is synonymous with elite cyclocross podiums. For the 2023-2024 season, Canyon has updated the existing bike with some upgrades aimed at increasing the performance and the ability to get the perfect fit.

The current generation Canyon Inflite has been the choice of a selection of top-tier riders who have had great success whilst riding it. Mathieu Van Der Poel, Puck Pieterse, Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado and Zoe Bäckstedt all ride the Inflite.

Not a cable in sight

New for the 2024, Canyon has redesigned the fork and, with the addition of a fully internally routable cockpit, it has managed to completely hide all cables within the bike. Not only does this give the bike a nice clean aesthetic from front to back, but also serves a purpose.

Cyclocross bikes need to be picked up and shouldered throughout a race, so the less things there are to get caught on, the simpler the action is for the rider. By fully internally routing the cables, this allows the riders to pick the bike up without having to worry about any cables getting snagged.

All-new adjustable cockpit

Bringing the Inflite in-line with other bikes in Canyon's range, the CP0018 adjustable aero cockpit makes an appearance in the new Inflite lineup. This allows for a tuneable fit at the bars without the need to swap out any components. The CP0018 allows up to 40mm of width adjustment and 15mm of height adjustment without the need to cut anything down.

Canyon has designed the "CP0018 Aerocockpit to meet the demands of their next race – wider for more leverage on tight courses, narrower for aero gains. And athletes can switch as often as they need between setups, because the cockpit is fast and simple to adjust."

CFR leaves nothing to be desired

Canyon has upped its spec choices for the flagship CFR models with this new Inflite, with both the CFR Di2 Team and CFR Team Limited bikes coming fitted with CeramicSpeed bottom brackets which Canyon claims will provide "hard-wearing, fast-spinning performance that lasts".

The second-tier CF SLX Inflite range gets a similar treatment when it comes to spec choices with both models on offer coming with Quarq or Rotor power meters as standard, as well as deep-section DT Swiss CRC 1400 carbon wheels.
