Israel-Premier Tech

Israel-Premier Tech were founded in 2015 to provide a place for Israeli cyclists to develop, but the team have gone through many different eras in their relatively short history.

In 2017, the team began to grow, joining the ProConti ranks, and then in 2020, they joined the WorldTour with a truly international roster. They enjoyed three years at this level, which brought them wins at the Tour de France and Giro d’Italia and the arrival of Grand Tour superstar Chris Froome, but at the end of 2022, they found themselves relegated back to ProConti level.

Despite their demotion to cycling's second tier, the team have begun their journey back to the WorldTour strongly thanks to healthy Grand Tour displays. Michael Woods took a mythical stage win atop the Puy de Dôme at the Tour de France while fellow Canadian Derek Gee was the story of the 2023 Giro d'Italia. Four second-place finishes, and runner-up spots in both the King of the Mountains and Points classifications earned him a deserved Most Combative Rider prize.

In 2024, the team are buoyed by several additions to an already exciting squad. Riley Sheehan, who won Paris-Tours whilst a stagiaire for the team, Pascal Ackermann and the British duo of Ethan Vernon and Jake Stewart add to a sprinter line-up that already includes youngster Corbin Strong. Meanwhile, George Bennett provides further strength in depth for the mountains.

The team's 2023 points tally ensured that they will race every WorldTour event on the calendar in 2024.

Highlights from stage 9 of the Tour de France 2023. The iconic Puy de Dôme returns to the Tour de France for the first time in 35 years. Starting in Saint-Léonard-de-Noblat, the stage is 182.4km long with 3,611m of climbing. The final climb up Puy de Dôme (13.3km at 7.7%) is very narrow and devilishly steep, averaging almost 12% for the final 4km.
