Chris Froome is a four-time Tour de France winner who currently riders for Israel-Premier Tech. Froome is the only British rider to have won all of cycling’s Grand Tours with two wins the Vuelta a España (2011 and 2017), a Giro d’Italia crown in 2018, and four Tour titles (2013, 2015, 2016, and 2017).

The veteran rider turned professional with Barloworld in 2008 and made his Tour de France debut that season. Two years later he moved to Team Sky during their inaugural season but his major breakthrough came when he won the Vuelta a year later. Froome had initially finished second overall but a doping ban saw provisional winner Juan Jose Cobo disqualified from the results. Froome would finish second to teammate Bradley Wiggins in the Tour de France the following season in 2012 before taking his first Tour win a year later.

By 2014, Froome had established himself as the main focal point and leader at Team Sky. Wins in almost every major stage race would follow with Froome vying for top honours against the likes Alberto Contador and Vincenzo Nibali. Froome’s most recent Grand Tour win would come at the 2018 Giro d’Italia with the British rider finishing third behind teammate Geraint Thomas and Tom Dumoulin at the Tour de France.

In 2019, Froome suffered a career-threatening crash at the Critérium du Dauphiné with the rider missing the rest of the season due to a lengthy recovery. Froome left Ineos Grenadiers at the end of that season and signed a multiple-year deal with Israel-Premier Tech in 2020. That deal will run through 2025.
