The 2013 Tour of Oman begins with a 162km race from Al Musannah to the Sultan Qaboos University.

While Oman looks much hillier than last week's Tour of Qatar, stage one is still pretty flat. The peloton let a break go until around 20km from the end, content to let Kohei Uchima and Bobby Traksel pick up the points for intermediate sprints.
Eventually it came down to a bunch sprint today,but we don't expect this to be the same through the rest of the race...
