This week in the world of cycling, we learned that pro cyclists really do go pretty quickly. Alex Dowsett of Katusha showed that he averaged over 60kph for 40 minutes in the stage 3 of the Giro, and Michael Woods of EF hit 98kph.
Clearly he means business in this years race, look, here he is trying to resist a cream cake on the first rest day.
We also learned this week that the longest tandem in the world is 20 metres long, and rather than just two seats, 35 people can ride it. Strange but true. Anyway, this week we’ve been lolling, or laughing out loud, at the comments that you’ve been leaving under last week’s show, where we asked you if your love of cycling has gone a bit too far. The resounding answer is yes, leaving us to conclude that perhaps your love of cycling can’t really go too far, it’s a great sport and absolutely fine to get obsessed with it.
It also seems that there are plenty of you who are, well not necessarily deceitful with your partners, but at least imaginative with your admissions on purchases.

Bicycle Advocacy group People For Bikes last week listed the best places to ride your bike in the US - their results came through research on 5 points, including how many people ride a bike and historical safety statistics - would you like to know who came out on top?
No you’re alright……….only joking, hit us with it.. Fort Collins, in Colorado. Although slightly worryingly, each place is given up to a five star ranking, and nowhere got more than 3.5.
Moving onto cycling safety now, back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, Trek and Ford announced that they were collaborating on a new bike to vehicle communication system. Well, it’s gathering pace, Giant, Shimano, SRAM Specialized, Orbea and Cannondale among others have all joined and formed the inaugural board of the B2V committee.
