When you start to surpass the records of Eddy Merckx, you know you will forever be known as one of cycling’s greats, and the way Sagan has started this year’s Tour de France has cemented his place in the history books. 2 stages, one 2nd place, one win, and therefore already in green, and yellow. Emma pulls out the graphs to show just how good Sagan really is!

You could ride in the pro peloton! In theory, at least. This was a study done at Eindhoven University and brought to our attention by Andrei Loghin. They placed 121 mannequins on bikes in a wind tunnel and tested exactly how much less air resistance you experience. And at the sweet spot, they reckon, you’ll only encounter 5% of the air resistance that you would if you were riding in the same conditions alone. Interesting!
