Ex-Professional Cyclists Dan Lloyd and Matt Stephens give you tips and hints to make sure you are in the right place come the big day!
The Maratona dles Dolomites is the ultimate test for physical and mental strength. It's 138km long with 4230m of climbing!
You will need to structure your training and make sure it's consistent so that everything comes together nicely.
If you commute by bike, you can even use that as part of the training. Don't forget to take advantage of the weather too!
It's not all about riding and riding, rest and recovery is vitally important too.
The video explains what to do in fine detail, but below is the headline pointers for you to be aware of;
Month 1:
Establish your routine
Month 2:
Build time and distance. Incorporating climbs is also important so that you can prepare your body.
Month 3:
Add intensity to the training rides.
Month 4:
Increase the distance of your rides, including interval sessions.
7-10 days before:
Taper your training to leave you fresh!
