How To Build Your Own Bike Frame Part 3 | Maintenance Monday

It's here, the final part of how to build your own bike frame with Simon Richardson and the handy team at The Bicycle Academy.

In the previous two episodes we showed you tubing selection, geometries, tube mitring and tacking the frame together.

In this video the frame is brazed together. It isn't as simple as that. There is a technique to ensure that the frame remains straight and in-line.
Simon adds his magic touch to the left rear dropout of the frame, arguable the most important part (in Simon's words).

Once the frame is brazed together all is not done, there are still some finishing touches to be done, bottom bracket needs to be threaded, the brazing needs to be rubbed down nice and smooth, the head tube has to be faced so that all bearings sit perfectly in place.
