Vittoria has added a new tyre to its line-up in the shape of the RideArmor. The tyre is aimed at riders looking for an all-season road tyre capable on all paved surfaces regardless of the conditions, and its focus is on durability and resistance to punctures.

Vittoria says that the RideArmor is “the new addition to the road tyre range designed to provide the dependability and durability that commuters and cyclists that train hard expect from a bicycle tyre”.

“When developing RideArmor, Vittoria engineer's aim was to design a tyre to be used all year long for training and commuting purposes, on any tarmac and weather condition,” the brand said. “The result is a true armour able to defend cyclists from the most hateful enemy: punctures.”

The increase in puncture protection has come from a bead-to-bead puncture protection belt, additional sidewall layers and bead shield layers. This layering under the surface of the tyre is said to act as “the ultimate cut and abrasion protection.”

The RideArmor uses Vittoria’s Graphine+ tyre compound in an attempt to maximise the three cornerstones of a good road tyre: durability, grip and comfort. Using a lightly treaded tyre profile, Vittoria believes that this makes it a well-rounded tyre in all conditions.

Vittoria will be releasing a single version of the RideArmor that is compatible with both tubeless and tubed systems as well as the 28mm and above tyres being certified for use with hookless rims. The tyre is available in a size range from 26mm through to 38mm. This size range opens the tyre up for use as a light and fast gravel tyre for light to moderate gravel riding.

The tyre is available for purchase from Vittoria in 26/28/30/32mm sizes as of today, 29 February, with the other sizes available shortly. The RideArmor will retail for £59.99 / $79.99 / €59.95.
