Italian brand Bianchi Milano has released a five-part clothing collection to celebrate cycling as a lifestyle. The collections on offer are for both road and gravel, with three of the ‘capsules’ aimed at the road faction of the cycling community and the remaining two offerings tailored to gravel riding.

For those who might not be au fait with Bianchi Milano, it is the technical clothing company owned by the iconic bicycle brand Bianchi. 2023 sees the Bianchi Milano name return to cycling, available through its website and selected stockists.

Bianchi’s goal with these new lines of technical clothing is to "combine aesthetics and functionality" and to "guarantee maximum freedom of movement and a perfect fit on every ride and for all types of terrain, without compromising style," according to a statement.

All collections have been designed in Italy using technical fabrics tailored to the specific needs of a dedicated cyclist in line with "the hallmark of Bianchi’s pursuit of Excellence". Bianchi says that "the collections are focused on high quality and cutting-edge features and solutions to satisfy even the most demanding cyclists".

A common theme that runs through the complete range of Bianchi Milano clothing is the iconic stripe associated with the rich cycling history surrounding Bianchi.

The collections

On offer from Bianchi Milano are five contrasting and visually distinct capsules that all take elements from the Italian brand.

RC Icon 999

This is the aerodynamic collection, aimed at riders whose primary aim when out on the bike is going as fast as possible. Garments in the RC Icon 999 collection are made of cutting-edge Rombo Mesh 3D that look to cheat the wind and make you as slippery as possible.

The RC 999 line of clothing aims to "combine the racing DNA of the Reparto Corse Bianchi, with the code, 999, used by Bianchi since 1952 to number frames destined for racing".

Ultralight

As you might expect from the name of this collection, the ultralight garments are some of the lightest on the market. Importantly they also reportedly incorporate a high level of breathability, designed around riders that give it their all climb after climb, "making them the perfect choice for uphill rides even on the hottest days" according to the brand.

Along with the namesake light weight qualities of the collection, moisture management was also a design consideration. Aimed to provide comfort to riders on long rides, features such as the high-density padding of the shorts or minimalist seams have been purposeful in making a comfortable garment out on the bike.

Remastered

This collection resembles the retro Bianchi jerseys of the peloton from yesteryear. The remastered collection takes a more relaxed approach to the fit of the garments and put an emphasis on the trademark Bianchi Celeste colour-way. This collection features a less extreme fit however is built for the needs of cycle commuters or cafe spins.

Gravel Tech

The Bianchi Milano collection features two gravel-specific capsules with the first offering a technical range aimed at the exacting needs of an adventurous gravel ride.

The Gravel Tech collection focuses on the freedom of movement needed for gravel riding, when spending time off the bike in cycling kit is an important factor. The range also features a protective and resistant padding specifically for the rigours of off road cycling.

Lifestyle

This capsule has been designed with the aim of capturing the essence of gravel with the style you might associate with the Bianchi brand. A more colourful pallet has been selected for the lifestyle collection, allowing riders to express themselves out on their gravel adventures.

The full Bianchi Milano collection can be viewed on its website now.
