Orange bikes look to have secured its future with the acquisition of local frame manufacturer

British mountain bike brand Orange Bikes has announced positive news regarding the future of the business this week after being ready to appoint administrators at the start of the month.

Orange is set to resume trading with a more slimmed-down and restructured operation, which includes acquiring the brand's new frame manufacturing partner, Bairstows Sheet Metal.

This move is a key part of the brand's plan to bring all operations under the same roof, with the business now able to have frame manufacturing and bike assembly all in the same location.

The newly acquired premises are just a stone's throw from Orange’s current headquarters in Halifax, UK. With the move to this new location, the brand will have more control over the production process from start to finish, which it says will ensure the highest quality standards for its bikes.

In the new facility, aluminium will be delivered to one end of the factory and bikes will be boxed up and ready to ship out at the other. From this acquisition and streamlining of the manufacturing process, Orange has been able to find stability in the business and secure the jobs of those working for the brand.

In a press release detailing the news further, a spokesperson for the brand said: “We are excited about this new chapter in the Orange Bikes story and the opportunities it presents. This move not only strengthens our position in the industry but also demonstrates our commitment to British bike manufacturing.

“Through the streamlining of our business, we have been able to preserve jobs and reinforce the stability of the Orange brand. This strategic decision ensures a promising future for British bike manufacturing in West Yorkshire for at least another 35 years."

“We are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and remain dedicated to producing high-quality bikes that meet the needs and expectations of our customers.”
