The top spec Grizl:On comes equipped with both a dropper post and a suspension fork
Canyon has taken its adventure-ready gravel bike, the Grizl, and added a motor to create the Grizl:ON e-bike.
The new electric bike uses Bosch’s latest SX lightweight platform to provide 55Nm of torque in a compact frame-mounted solution. At 2kg, the SX motor is significantly lighter than Bosch’s CX line typically found on e-mountain bikes and e-city bikes.
Powering the SX motor is a 400Wh battery that can be extended with the use of an externally mounted range extender that sits in one of the bike's bottle cages. With this fitted, the range increases by a further 250Wh, giving the Grizl:ON a total potential battery capacity of 650Wh.
Canyon has developed the Grizl:On with some new technologies that make the most of the internal battery's capability. At the rear of the bike, the Grizl:ON has what Canyon is calling 'Lupine SightStays', which feature integrated rear lights on both of the seat stays. As the bike is capable of holding a pannier rack, the placement of the rear lights is low enough to not be obstructed if panniers are fitted.
The Grizl:ON also comes with an integrated front light that sits in line with the stem, in front of the headtube.

Integrated rear lights are positioned in a way that works with paniers fitted
Bolstering the Grizl:ON’s rear pannier rack carry capability is the option to fit a hard shell frame bag called the Load Fidlock Quickloader. This is available as an additional purchase from Canyon.
Carrying on the theme of functionality, the Grizl:ON comes fitted as standard with full-length mudguards. The front mudguard has been designed to work with a gravel-specific suspension fork in the shape of the RockShox Judy.
Most builds come with Canyon's leafspring S14 VCLS 2.0 seatpost, but the top-spec CF 9 trail model comes with a dropper post in the form of the SRAM Reverb AXS.
