Former biathlete and Spanish national champion Mavi García is one of Spain’s best cyclists when it comes to GC racing. A climber by nature, García is at her best in the hillier races, whether chasing stages or going for the overall.

Having raced since 2015, García has taken a steady path to the top, only taking her first WorldTour win in 2022 at the Vuelta a Burgos. The 40-year-old is more of a pure climber, suited to the longer efforts, but that hasn’t stopped her from picking up good results and even wins in one-day races, such as Strade Bianche and the GP de Plouay.

After three years with UAE Team ADQ, formerly Alé BTC Ljubljana, García moved to Liv TeqFind in 2023, where she claimed a fifth Spanish road championship title. For 2024, Liv Teqfind merged with Aussie outfit Jayco AlUla to form Liv AlUla Jayco, with García penning a two-year deal with the new set-up.
