Matteo Jorgenson caught the eye at the Tour de France

It’s less than two weeks until the UCI transfer window opens and a number of deals are close to being announced. Over the last few weeks, GCN has had its ear to the ground regarding all matters transfer-related, and here's a run down on what we know so far.

Matteo Jorgenson’s move from Movistar to Jumbo-Visma will be announced in the coming weeks. GCN has learned that the deal will be for an initial three years.

Joining the American on the Jumbo-Visma team will be Ben Tulett from Ineos Grenadiers, with the British rider having agreed a two-year contract.

Although Jorgenson is leaving Movistar, one rider who will stay is Ivan Sosa, while Pelayo Sánchez will join from outside of the WorldTour. Will Barta is also set for a contract extension with the team. However, Max Kanter will leave the Spanish WorldTour team and join Astana.

German sprinter Pascal Ackermann will move from UAE Team Emirates to Israel Premier Tech, bringing one lead-out rider from Lotto Dstny with him. That will be either Michael Schwarzmann or Rüdiger Selig, with both riders set to leave the Belgian team.

Ryan Gibbons will also leave UAE Team Emirates, with a move to Lidl Trek a strong possibility, while Rui Oliveira and brother Ivo Oliveira are set to stay at UAE.

Ineos Grenadiers might be losing talent with Dani Martinez heading to Bora-Hansroghe and Tulett moving to Jumbo-Visma but Omar Fraile and Jonathan Castroviejo will sign contract extensions alongside Geraint Thomas and Luke Rowe. All four riders look on the verge of agreeing two-year deals.

Pavel Sivakov has been linked with a move to UAE Team Emirates, with the team confirming to GCN earlier this month that they are negotiating with the rider on a transfer.

Patrick Konrad will leave Bora-Hansgrohe, with strong links to Lidl-Trek, while Matteo Sobrero will move from Jayco-AlUla to the German team. Lidl-Trek will also welcome Tao Geoghegan Hart to the team in 2024, with Sam Oomen also on their radar.

GCN can also confirm that Mauro Schmid will leave Soudal Quick-Step, with a three-year deal at Jayco-AlUla in the works, although nothing has been made official at present. Luke Lamperti will join QuickStep on a two-year deal and, with Fabio Jakobsen moving to dsm-firmenich, the team will hope that the American can develop into a WorldTour-level sprinter. James Knox is also set for a contract extension on the team.

Elsewhere, Robert Stannard could be on the verge of leaving Alpecin-Deceuninck, according to sources close to the rider. Michael Storer will leave Groupama-FDJ.
