Matteo Jorgenson is an American road racing cyclist who rides for Jumbo-Visma, following his transfer from Movistar at the end of 2023.

After a number of standout performances during his final U23 season in 2019, Jorgenson joined Movistar on an initial two-year deal before re-signing with the team for a further two seasons at the start of 2022. With a reputation as a combative climber, Jorgenson has excelled in the last few years, picking up a number of top-10 finishes in stage races and finishing 20th overall in his Tour de France debut in 2020.

His career reached another level in the first half of 2023 with the American winning the Tour of Oman, finishing second in the Tour de Romandie and picking up top-10s in a number of Spring Classics, including the Tour of Flanders.

A runner-up position at the Tour de Romandie preceded a spirited performance in the Tour de France, during which the American manoeuvred his way into three breakaways and almost won the summit finish atop the Puy de Dôme on stage 9.

Shortly after these impressive performances, Jumbo-Visma announced his acquisition for 2024 and Jorgenson will be hoping that the change in teams brings his first WorldTour victory after a series of near-misses.
