Jonas Vingegaard (Visma-Lease a Bike) suffered several broken ribs and a broken collarbone from his crash on stage 4 of Itzulia Basque Country.

Vingegaard was involved in a high-speed crash on a descent that also brought down Primož Roglič, Remco Evenepoel and nine other riders. Vingegaard was one of the worst affected as the Dane was put into an ambulance on a stretcher and with a neck brace.

While there have not been updates to the condition of Evenepoel and Roglič at this time, Jay Vine (UAE Team Emirates) and Sean Quinn (EF Education-EasyPost) are both in stable condition after they both left the crash in ambulances as well.

At this moment, the timeline of Vingegaard’s recovery and his future race schedule remains unclear. The next race on his schedule is the Critérium du Dauphiné in June before taking on the Tour de France with the hope of winning his third consecutive yellow jersey.
