Theodor Storm was set to join Ineos Grenadiers from the start of 2025 but GCN understands that the rider will now turn professional with the British team from 2024 onwards.
Storm, 18 years old from Denmark, finished fifth in the junior men's race at the UCI Road World Championships in Glasgow earlier this year. He also finished third in the junior version of Paris-Roubaix this spring.
According to sources close to the rider, he will step up to the WorldTour next season, continuing Ineos Grenadiers’ push for a younger and future-based roster.
Andrew AJ August signed for the British team on a three-year deal starting in 2024, while the last transfer window saw Michael Leonard, Leo Hayter and Joshua Tarling all join the team. August, just 18, is a highly rated talent from the United States, where he won the junior national time trial championship earlier this year.
The off-season has been overshadowed by management and structural changes within the team. Deputy team principal Rod Ellingworth departed alongside sports director Roger Hammond following a lengthy period of transition for the team, both on and off the road.

At the same time, John Allert moved into the role of CEO, having previously served as the managing director. Scott Drawer, who worked on the team during their Team Sky days, denied he was returning to the team but then was announced as the new performance director, while Imanol Erviti joined as a sports director, having retired at the end of the year while at Movistar.
Ineos Grenadiers have yet to officially announce any of their Grand Tour plans for 2024 but Carlos Rodríguez is expected to lead the line at the Tour de France having won a stage and finished fifth overall in 2023. Tom Pidcock and his in-house coach have also made the Tour the centrepiece to the rider’s season road season, with a stage win and a top-five on the British athlete’s bucket list.
Geraint Thomas has hinted at racing both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France, with one possible scenario geared towards a GC challenge at the Giro before taking on a super domestique role at the Tour in July.
