Aleksandr Vlasov on his way to winning a stage at Paris-Nice

Aleksandr Vlasov is set to stay at Bora-Hansgrohe with GCN learning that the Russian has agreed terms on a three-year contract extension with the German outfit.

The move will keep Vlasov, 27, on the team until the end of 2027 and ensure that he remains part of Primož Roglič's gaggle of super domestiques for at least two attempts at the Tour de France.

The German team are also discussing contract extensions with Jai Hindley and Lennard Kämna. The Australian has attracted interest from several other teams but is willing to extend his current deal under the right circumstances.

GCN understands that Kämna has offers from rival teams on the table but is still negotiating with Bora on a new deal.

Bora-Hansgrohe have been heavily linked with several major names on the market and until recently were still pursuing Remco Evenepoel, even though the Belgian has a contract with Soudal Quick-Step until the end of 2026. The German squad have apparently paused their interest in the Belgian rider at this point but are in the running to sign Jasper Philipsen from Alpecin-Deceuninck. UAE Team Emirates are presently the favourites to sign the Milan-San Remo winner.

Another rider that has been heavily inked with Bora-Hansgrohe is Laurence Pithie. The New Zealander has enjoyed a breakthrough spring, winning the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race, and impressing throughout the early Classics and Paris-Nice.

Several teams were linked to the 21-year-old and GCN has been informed by two sources that a deal was agreed on the eve of Milan-San Remo. It’s impossible to rule out a contract extension with Groupama-FDJ but the sums mentioned have been high, and while UAE Team Emirates and another WorldTour team have ruled themselves out, Bora have been heavily linked to the rider.

We can also confirm that Movistar’s Oier Lazkano is also in talks with Bora-Hansgrohe. Movistar are keen on keeping the highly rated Spanish champion but according to one source his departure ‘is a big possibility’.

One rider who will be leaving Movistar at the end of the season is Alex Aranburu. The 28-year-old has been on the Spanish squad since 2021 but will join a French team in 2025.

Bahrain Victorious have Lenny Martinez at the top of their shopping list

While half the peloton have been linked to Bora-Hansgrohe, the situation at Bahrain Victorious is a little more targeted.

Groupama-FDJ’s talented climber Lenny Martinez has already been linked with a move to the team from the Gulf by the well-informed Italian journalist Ciro Scognamiglio.

Team general manager Milan Eržen stopped short of confirming a deal when speaking to GCN but he did admit that Martinez was at the top of his list for 2025.

“I’ve been following Lenny for three or four years now and for sure he will be a future French star but I can’t confirm anything. We’ve talked with his agent, but not with him, but no signature. He is at the top of our list though. There are so many other richer teams in front of us though, and what we can offer. We can’t compete with the crazy money that’s being offered now,” Eržen told GCN.

“We’re looking for riders for the Grand Tours but we have contracts for next year with a number of our riders like Bilbao, Haig, Tiberi and Caruso. We’re looking for young guys who can make that jump into that group and learn a lot from them. That’s the main aim now. We have a group of sprinters for the future, and we have some new youngsters for the sprints."

Phil Bauhaus is expected to agree terms on a new deal with Bahrain-Victorious in the next few days.
