¡Hola! from Spain. GCN's new presenter, Matt Stephens brings us the News Show.
There's a lot to cover this week, with an action packed week at the Vuelta, the Tour de l'Avenir, GP Plouay, the MTB World Championships in Pietermaritzburg in South Africa, and the World Ports Classic. Plus, we've got tech from Eurobike and Tweet of the Week.
There have been nearly as many leaders jersey holders as stages so far at this years Vuelta. Matt cuts through the confusion of the first week to give you the rundown on events so far.
The Tour de l'Avenir (literally 'Tour of the Future') is always packed with new talent. This years standouts were undoubtedly the Yates twins; two stage wins and second and tenth overall between them.
The GP Plouay is one of France's biggest one day events, and takes part in the cycling heartland of Brittany. In the women's race there were no surprises as Marianne Vos dominated. In the men's, Fillipo Pozzato came away with the win, reminding cycling fans that he is A) still racing and B) can still win a race.
The Mountain Bike World Championships visited Africa for the first time. Highlights from Pietermaritzburg included a win for local rider Greg Minaar in the downhill, and two repeat winners in the elite cross country events.
The World Ports Classic saw some interesting racing. The bunch was sent the wrong way in the closing stages on the first day, allowing Jelle Wallays of pro-continental team Topsport-Vlaanderen to take a surprise stage win. 'Order' was restored in the cross winds on the final day though, with Nicholas Maes of Omega Pharma-QuickStep taking the overall victory.
As always, we close with a bit of tech and Tweet of the Week. This week, your tech dose comes from Eurobike, the world's biggest cycling trade show.
