The People's Choice Criterium is the first opportunity to see how the big name sprinters, like Marcel Kittel and Andre Greipel, are shaping up for the Tour Down Under and the rest of the season.
Over 95,000 spectators saw the big sprint trains in action. Team Sky took the race up early, before Lott-Belisol and Team Giant-Shimano came to the fore.
After the race we caught up with 19 year old sprint sensation Caleb Ewan, Marcel Kittel and fan favourite Bernie Eisel.
Stay with GCN for full coverage of the Tour Down Under which starts on Tuesday.
