Although relatively new to the calendar, Strade Bianche and Roma Maxima have already become an important part of the European Tour. GCN have picked 5 riders to watch at each race.

Characterised by the white gravel roads of Tuscany, Strade Bianche is now in it's 8th edition. Last year's race was won by Francesco Moser, but we're expecting his Cannondale teammate Peter Sagan or classics favourite Fabian Cancellara to take charge. Don't count out seasoned climbers like Evans or Valverde, though.
The first Roma Maxima was run last year, rising from the ashes of the Giro del Lazio. Blel Kadri won by quite a distance last year, so much so that 2nd placed Filippo Pozzato thought he was the first over the line! The Italian will be seeking to celebrate a genuine first place this time.
Other than Pipo, we think fellow veteran Luca Paolini might have a chance. So too could Sonny Colbrelli or Mauro Finetto - both capable of causing an upset on the day.
