Eating when riding is key to being able to keep going during the day, and on a long stage professional cyclists will burn thousands of calories. Sports nutrition has come a long way, and almost all of the pro teams from Argos-Shimano to Vacansoleil-DCM use a combination of energy drinks and gels with some 'real' food - mostly rice cakes.
We took a look inside the musettes of Orica-GreenEDGE, Lotto-Bellisol, Radioshack, Euskaltel, Europcar, Vacansoleil and Belkin to see what their riders eat during a stage.
