We did a quick poll of some of the mechanics at the Tour de France to find out just what they consider to be their top tips for those of us looking after our own bikes.
Geoff Brown, head mechanic at Garmin SHARP stresses the importance of keeping your bike clean, where as Ian Sherburne of BMC pays particular attention to the tyres to minimise the risk of punctures.
We also have tips from Team Sky, Belkin, Orica GreenEDGE and Giant-Shimano. You might not have a bike as expensive as a team bike, but at least it'll have that pro mechanic's touch after this.
