How To Replace Cartridge Hub Bearings In Your Road Bike Wheels

The majority of high-end wheels these days use cartridge bearings, replacing them correctly is important to ensure your bearings last, and you wheels run as efficiently as possible. Jon runs you through replacing cartridge bearings on a set of DT Swiss wheels.

Before you get started, make sure you've got all the tools you will need for your hub. A bench vice is also very useful for replacing your hub bearings, but isn't necessarily essential if you don't have one in your home workshop.

Another really important thing to remember is to lay out all the parts of your hub in the order that you removed them. That way you'll know which order to put them back in when you get to that point. It can also help to take a picture of the hub at each point when you remove each part.
