Matt has the off-road riding basics dialled, so now it's time to move onto something a bit more advanced: dismounting, carrying and remounting a 'cross bike.
Running with your bike is the thing that makes cyclo-cross stand out from other cycling disciplines. The pros are so good at the process that it's often a viable alternative to riding sections. As Matt's signed up for a race, he needed to learn it too, so here's how to teach yourself to get off, carry and get back on your bike.
Even if you're not riding cross, getting off and on efficiently, and in a pain-free way, is a really useful skill to have.
