A traditional warm up to the Tour de France, the Critérium du Dauphiné takes place this week and has already thrown up a few surprises in the winners of the first two stages, though Elia Viviani's sprint win won't be a huge surprise to people who followed our Giro rider diaries.

News of Bradley Wiggins' not taking part in the Tour broke this week too, leading to questions about his future as a grand tour rider, in an article on The Guardian here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/blog/2013/may/31/bradley-wiggins-tour-de-france

In tech news, the new BMC Team Machine SLR-01 was unveiled, a 790g frame that scored a podium at the Giro and a win at the Tour of California. We also have a look at a Bell aero road helmet.

Blanco appear to have a new sponsor in American electronics manufacturer Belkin, and we're really pleased to see the team able to attract the kind of backing they deserve after some great results already this year.

Finally our congratulations to Kiel Reijnen of United Healthcare for his win in the Philly Classic.
