Greipel is affectionately known as the gorilla owing to his comparatively huge size, a true beast on a bike. He has embraced this nickname wholeheartedly, even getting his race bike sprayed up with a custom ape paintjob.
That's the only ounce of playfulness on this mean machine however. The Ridley Noah FAST has integrated brakes for aerodynamics, and massive carbon tubes for stiffness.
Greipel runs Campagnolo Super Record mechanic gears, and other Italian companies provide the bars and stem (Deda) and seat (San Marco). Finally, Greipel uses Campagnolo Bora Ultra 2's for his sprint stage wheels, and Continental tyres.
