The new Kickr Run is Wahoo's attempt to replicate its success in indoor cycling with indoor running
Wahoo has expanded its Kickr range in a whole new direction with the new Kickr Run treadmill.
The Kickr Run aims to transform indoor running in the same way in which the Wahoo Kickr revolutionised the indoor cycling market, and benefits from much of the same functionality and technological connectivity that the rest of the Kickr and Wahoo lines have used as their calling card.

“With Kickr Run, for the first time, runners can experience a truly immersive indoor running experience with seamless, hands-free changes in pace that will let their feet command the speed, plus a full integration with Zwift Run, giving the ability to automatically feel changes in gradient - as they explore virtual worlds,” Wahoo said in a press release.
The treadmill has several features that are meant to bring indoors running closer to the interface and functionality of inside training, including the RunFree Mode, which allows you to change pace without touching the controls, a high speed of 4:00 min/mile pace, a surface that "propels runners forward at their normal outdoor pace", plus "innovative lateral tilting capability provides a dynamic running experience to simulate the road".
Furthermore, in-keeping with the Wahoo Kickr brand, a focus on training and technological integration is central to the new treadmill.
“Designed for focused training, featuring smart treadmill functionality for structured workouts, with automatic speed and grade control from third-party applications, the Kickr Run seamlessly connects to software platforms such as Zwift and Wahoo SYSTM for virtual training,“ Wahoo said.
Additionally, the treadmill will have a platform for laptops, charging ports for USB-C devices and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity.
“I have been working behind the scenes with a very talented group of Wahooligans developing Kickr Run for over 7 years – so I am delighted to see it come to market,” Chip Hawkins, founder of Wahoo Fitness, said in the press release.
“As passionate runners – we wanted to create the most realistic experience and create a tool that helps people improve, become better athletes and achieve their goals. The Kickr Run will revolutionise indoor running, in the same way that the Kickr did for indoor cycling over a decade ago.”
While the Wahoo Kickr Run is not out yet, and the price of the treadmill has yet to be announced, it will be launched in the United States in the summer of 2024 and will arrive globally in 2025.
