The Giro d’Italia has extended its commercial partnership with clothing manufacturer Castelli for an extra three years through to 2026.

Italian brand Castelli will continue to create jerseys for all four classifications at the race, including the general classification’s pink jersey (maglia rosa), young rider’s white jersey (maglia bianca), the purple points classification (maglia ciclamino) and the blue King of the Mountains (maglia azzurro).

The announcement came on the second rest day at this year’s Giro d’Italia, the sixth edition of the race in a row that Castelli has provided jerseys for the race since renewing their partnership with the Giro in 2018 after a 26-year absence.

“Having the legendary Scorpion logo grace the roads of the Giro d'Italia fills us with immense pride,” Alessio Cremonese, Managing Director of MVC Group, Castelli’s owners, said in a press release.

“This is a great occasion to showcase our innovative products, commitment to the sport, its long history, and our passion for constantly striving to push the boundaries of what is possible in the world of performance cycling clothing and shape the future for years to come.”

Leaders of the classifications can choose between Castelli’s RossoCorsa, Gabba or Perfetto ranges of clothing.

RossoCorsa is their performance-focussed range, designed to be lightweight and aerodynamic, including an aero race jersey and speed suits.

As anyone riding this year’s Giro d’Italia can attest to, the race is often beset by bad weather, and for those days riders can rely on the Gabba or Perfetto selection of clothing. These are designed ‘to shield the riders from rain, snow, and wind, ensuring their comfort and focus remains undeterred’.

“Castelli is known all over the world and has been the provider of the leaders’ jerseys for the Giro d’Italia for nearly two decades, the last six as consecutive years,” RCS President Urbano Cairo said in a press release. “Over this period, Castelli has become synonymous with the Giro d’Italia iconic brand and the maglia rosa jersey.”
