Canyon has teamed up with Campagnolo to launch a new collection of their CFR road bikes.

Through the new Canyon X Campagnolo Collection, Canyon’s Ultimate CFR and Aeroad CFR bikes are now available with the Italian brand’s Super Record Wireless groupset. Both bikes were already available with Shimano and SRAM components and the partnership extends this to include Campagnolo, completing a clean sweep of the major groupset brands.

After plenty of anticipation, Campagnolo joined the wireless arms race back in May, giving their top-tier Super Record groupset a long-awaited upgrade.

As well as going fully wireless for the first time, they also ditched the brand’s famous thumb shifters which caused a bit of a stir.

Campagnolo confirmed when the groupset was released that it would be used on Canyon bikes and that’s now been unveiled through the Canyon X Campagnolo Collection.

“In celebration of one of cycling’s most iconic brands, Canyon are proud to present the Canyon X Campagnolo Collection: a new and exclusive range featuring some of the finest road bikes the German brand has ever crafted,” Canyon said in a press release.

“Uniting Canyon’s super-light, pro-level CFR frames with Campagnolo’s finest ever components, the Canyon X Campagnolo Collection represents the zenith of road racing performance and aesthetics.”

CFR denotes the highest, pro-level models that Canyon offers within its three performance ranges. This includes the aero-orientated Aeroad CFR and more lightweight, all-round Ultimate CFR. There’s also the Speedmax CFR, a dedicated time trial bike, but this hasn’t been included within the new Campagnolo collection.

On top of the Super Record Wireless groupset, both bikes are also specced with Campagnolo wheels.

For the Ultimate CFR, that’s the Hyperon Ultra wheelset which Campagnolo resurrected in 2023. They were historically their climbing wheels and they’ve retained this profile with 37mm rims and a claimed weight of 1240g.

The Aeroad CFR is specced with Campagnolo’s deep-section, Bora Ultra WTO 60 wheelset. Despite their 60mm aero profiles, the wheels are also surprisingly lightweight at only 1530g.

As is usual, the bikes are finished with Canyon’s homebrand kit, including the CP0018 Aerocockpit.

Alongside Campagnolo’s components there’s also a swanky new colourway merging a black carbon finish with bronze tones. Even the Canyon logo has received a bronze makeover to celebrate the latest collaboration between two of cycling’s biggest brands, a relationship that has delivered plenty of success in the past.

“The philosophies of Campagnolo and Canyon are fuelled by a shared vision – to create products that push the boundaries of technology, design, and performance, and to put them to the test at the biggest races,” Canyon said.

“And the results speak for themselves. Campagnolo-equipped Canyon bikes have compiled a sparkling palmarès over the years including the World Championship titles of Cadel Evans in 2009 and Alejandro Valverde in 2018, as well as Grand Tour victories by Nairo Quintana in 2014 and 2016.”

The new Canyon X Campagnolo Collection is the latest in a string of recent releases by Canyon.

In recent months the German brand has also teamed up with Mathieu van der Poel to release two special-edition Aeroad CFRs, one inspired by the bike he’s currently riding at the Tour de France.

Prices for the new Canyon X Campagnolo Collection start from €10,999 and you can check out the full range on Canyon's website.
