Luke Plapp is an up-and-coming professional cyclist from Australia who races for the team Jayco AlUla.

Plapp came through the ranks of the Australian track programme and was also a highly-rated time triallist as a junior. In 2018 Plapp won the points race and the Madison at the junior UCI Track World Championships. Plapp also finished second behind Remco Evenepoel in the junior time trial at the time trial at the UCI Road World Championships in 2018.

At the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 the Australian won a bronze medal as part of the Australian men’s team pursuit squad. Following the Olympics in 2021 Plapp joined the Ineos Grenadiers team as a stagiaire for the remainder of the year before signing a full-time contract with the British team for the start of the 2022 road season.

Plapp made an instant impression in his first full season on the road, winning the Australian men’s road race national championships in January before racking up a number of impressive early-season results in Europe. Plapp would make his Grand Tour debut at the Vuelta a España later that season before picking up a bronze medal at the UCI World Championships in the Mixed Relay. 2023 saw more success for the young Australian with a second Australian road race championship win and a second overall at the UAE Tour.

At the end of 2023, however, Plapp made the surprising move to break his contract with Ineos and move to his 'home' team of Jayco AlUla. With a year still on his deal with Ineos, it was a surprising move for Plapp who will be with Jayco AlUla through 2027.
