Mischa Bredewold (SD Worx-Protime) is a Dutch rider at home on testing one-day parcours and hilly stage races. The 23-year-old was crowned European road race champion in September 2023, winning atop the Col du VAM after a 10km solo.

Her victory in the Netherlands was impressive, but her journey to the sport's top level is even more so. In 2018, when Bredewold was a junior she was hit by a truck whilst training, leaving her with six broken ribs, three broken vertebrae, a broken pelvis and brain damage.

Miraculously, the Dutchwoman was able to make a full recovery and joined Parkhotel Valkenburg in 2021. Bredewold swiftly displayed the same promising talent she had before her accident, notably claiming a stage win at the Baloise Ladies Tour.

The rider from Amersfoort added a WorldTour stage win to her palmarès a year later at the Simac Ladies Tour before signing with SD Worx for 2023.

Being a part of arguably the strongest Women's WorldTeam only aided Bredewold's development with her winning both the Volta Limburg and Classic Lorient Agglomération before triumphing on the continental stage. In 2024, Bredewold will looking forward to wearing the white, blue and gold jersey for SD Worx-Protime.
