Chiara Consonni

Chiara Consonni (UAE Team ADQ) is a rider who can sometimes fly under the radar, but is one of the most consistent sprinters out there, and a Giro d'Italia Donne stage winner in both 2022 and 2023.

The Italian is a product of the track programme in Italy, forming part of their world championship-winning team pursuit team. On the road, Consonni focuses on sprinting, which has earned her victories in both stage races and one-day races, the biggest being her Dwars door Vlaanderen win in 2022.

Like many of her compatriots and UAE Team ADQ teammates, Consonni is a graduate of the highly successful Valcar team, which has fostered many of the best cyclists in recent years, including Elisa Balsamo. Consonni moved up to the WorldTour from Valcar in 2023, when the team became a development squad for the UAE-owned outfit. In 2024, she will be their main sprinter and amongst the team's core of leaders.
