Sergio Higuita

Sergio Higuita is a Colombian road racing cyclist who races for the Bora-Hansgrohe team.

An out-and-out climber with a punishingly fast uphill kick, Higuita has won a stage of the Vuelta a España, the Volta Ciclista a Catalunya and the Tour of Colombia. He also has several high-profile placings in several other stage races and one-day events. 

A graduate of the Manzana Postobon team in Colombia, Higuita moved to the EF Education First midway through the 2019 campaign after a short stint on Fundación Euskadi. During his first full season on the American team, Higuita won his home tour and finished third in Paris-Nice. In 2022 Higuita moved to Bora-Hansgrohe on a three-year contract.

Higuita enjoyed a fabulous first season with the German team, becoming the Colombian national champion, winning the Volta a Catalunya and finishing second at the Tour de Suisse. However, he was unable to replicate this form in 2023 and ended the season having only won a stage of Itzulia Basque Country.
