Demi Vollering

Demi Vollering (SD Worx) is one of the best riders in the world, the current champion at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift as well as a decorated Classics rider.

Once something of a sprinter, Vollering joined SD Worx from Parkhotel Valkenburg in 2021 and quickly became their answer for Anna van der Breggen’s retirement. The 26-year-old is undeniably similar to Van der Breggen in terms of her specialities: a strong climber and time trialist, who favours the Ardennes over the Flemish Classics, and can win stage races.

Having wracked up wins at La Course, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and the Women’s Tour in 2021, Vollering focused her 2022 season around the Tour de France Femmes, and was the closest rider to eventual winner Annemiek van Vleuten - taking second overall and the polka dot jersey. She managed to go one better in 2023, winning atop the Tourmalet in dominant fashion to win the yellow jersey.

Though the Tour and other stage races may be Vollering’s main focus these days, she’s still a powerful Classics rider, and in 2023 added Strade Bianche to her long list of major wins.
