Ben O'Connor is a general classification rider from West Australia who is one of the leaders of AG2R-Citroën.

O’Connor came to the World Tour for Dimension Data in 2017. After an anonymous first couple of seasons at the African outfit, O’Connor had his big breakthrough at the 2020 Giro d’Italia after a memorable solo ride to Madonna di Campiglio on stage 17. With his team, at the time called NTT, under the threat of collapse, the result gave O’Connor a lifeline in the form of a contract from AG2R Citroën.

In his first year at the French outfit, O’Connor secured his career defining win at the Tour de France on stage 9 into Tinges, before finishing fourth overall in Paris. In 2022, O’Connor was looking to build on that result in July. He started his summer in good stead at the Critérium du Dauphiné with a third place overall finish. His Tour de France, however, was not nearly as successful with a crash in the first week causing him to abandon on stage 10.
