Though Belgium has produced many legendary male cyclists, its honour list of female pros has been much shorter - but Lotte Kopecky (SD Worx) is changing that. 2023 world champion, Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift runner up two-time Flanders winner, plus wins at Strade Bianche and Omloop het Nieuwsblad - the 27-year-old has quickly become the very best Classics and one-day rider in the peloton, as well as proving her climbing ability at the Tour.

One of the many cards in SD Worx’s super team line-up, Kopecky is known for her aggressive style, often attacking on the punchy climbs that characterise the Classics, making her no stranger to a solo win. She also has a solid sprint, once something of a bunch sprinter but now using her kick to beat small groups, or step-up in the finishes when her teammate Lorena Wiebes is not there.

And she doesn’t just perform on the road, either: she’s a several-time World and European on the track, and represented Belgium in the velodrome at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Her trajectory on the road seems to be only going up, and she will likely remain a dominant force in one-day racing for seasons to come.
