Tiesj Benoot

Tiesj Benoot turned professional in 2015 with Lotto Belisol and spent five years with the Belgian team before a move to Team Sunweb at the start of 2020. He stayed with the team for just two years before breaking his contract early to making the move to Jumbo-Visma at the start of 2022.

A formidable one-day rider, Benoot can excel on the cobbles of Flanders or the hills of Liège-Bastogne-Liège. He won an epic edition of Strade Bianche in 2018 and claimed victory in Kuurne-Bruxelles-Kuurne. A strong climber, he has also become a regular starter in the Tour de France, racing in every edition between 2017 and 2022. Outside of cycling, Benoot studied economics at Ghent University.
