Arlenis Sierra

Arlenis Sierra (Movistar) is a decorated Cuban rider who is one of the best all-rounders in the peloton. Once pigeon-holed as a sprinter, Sierra has proved in recent years that she is much more than that, able to survive over tough climbs and be aggressive in the biggest races. Many of her wins have come in sprints, but she has also won the hilly Navarra Classic, and had top-10s in the Tour of Flanders. A very rare example of a professional rider from Cuba, Sierra is also four-time Pan-American champion.

After five years on the former Astana women’s team, Sierra moved to Movistar in 2022, where she has had both better support from her team, but also more of a team role herself. She worked for Annemiek van Vleuten in the Giro Donne, Tour de France Femmes and CERATIZIT Challenge by La Vuelta in 2022, as well as taking three wins herself outside of her domestique role.

The Cuban rider, who won both the national road race and time trial in 2023, signed a new contract that keeps her with Movistar until the end of 2026.
