Often hailed as the greatest of all time, Marianne Vos is a rider who hardly needs any introduction. A prolific winner in road, cyclo-cross, mountain biking and track, she has national, World and Olympic titles across the disciplines - in fact, in over 20 years of racing from a junior to a legend of the peloton, there is extremely little that Marianne Vos has not achieved.

At one point in time, Vos was a truly dominant all-rounder, capable even of winning the Giro Donne overall on three occasions, but as the level of climbing and stage racing has improved, mountainous stage races have become the one thing Vos can’t win. Everything else - Classics, sprints, cyclo-cross races - the 36-year-old can and often still does win.

She may not win with quite the same frequency now, but with no fewer than 32 Giro stage victories to her name, plus three world road race titles, five Flèche Wallonnes, an Olympic gold medal… it’s going to take some time for anyone to come close to the records she has broken, set and extended.

One of the key supporters of a women’s Tour de France, Vos made it full circle in July 2022 when she won two stages of the newly-relaunched Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, and wore the yellow jersey for five days. In 2023, the legendary Dutchwoman showed some signs of slowing, partly due to continued issues with her iliac artery, but is aiming towards a full return to form in 2024, and is a rider who can never be written off.
