Ashleigh Moolman Pasio is a climber and GC rider who hails from South Africa - still a rarity in the women’s peloton. Moolman Pasio only started riding in her 20s, but is now one of the longest-serving riders in the bunch with 14 seasons under her belt. The 38-year-old previously spent two years with SD Worx, before moving to the AG Insurance-Soudal squad to headline their roster in 2023 as the former U23-only squad launched an elite arm.

A strong climber, Moolman Pasio excels in the mountains and in the Ardennes Classics. Her biggest win came in 2021, when she took victory on the Queen stage of the Giro Donne, and went on to finish second overall behind teammate Anna van der Breggen. At the end of 2022, Moolman Pasio pulled off a feat few have when she out-climbed Annemiek van Vleuten to win the first women’s Tour de Romandie, pulling away from the Dutch rider on the 2,000m climb to Thyon.

In her first year riding for her new team, Moolman Pasio achieved several top-10 finishes in the Spring Classics, as well as winning the one-day Durango-Durango Emakumeen Saria and a stage of the Tour des Pyrénées. She placed sixth overall at the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift, finishing inside the top-10 on five of the eight stages.
