Canyon-SRAM is one of the top teams in the women’s peloton and since 2016 the squad has elevated their profile every year. That success, paired with arguably the most vibrant jerseys in the peloton and a cast of characters to match, has made the team hugely appealing to cycling fans around the world.

To learn more and to delve into the core of women's cycling, Canyon-SRAM allowed the GCN+ behind the scenes to capture every single moment of the Giro Donne, the longest-running Grand Tour on the women's calendar.

With exclusive access to established stars and rising talents like Chloé Dygert, Tiffany Cromwell, and Antonia Niedermaier, this fly-on-the-wall documentary pulls back the curtain on how one of the best teams in the business navigates the emotional and physical rollercoaster of a truly dramatic race. Furthermore, with ex-pros Magnus Bäckstedt and Dani Christmas in the team car, expectations are for big performances and big wins which only adds to the intrigue of all the individual characters.

“Within any squad, what makes cycling unique is that you have so many types of riders and personalities,” Dani Christmas said about the Canyon-SRAM team and what it would take for them to find success in the 2023 season. “[Success] is found in how you can gel them as a team.”

From Dygert showing her competitive side in the chaos of the first stage time trial, to Niedermaier having her big breakthrough performance in the mountains, Trial by Giro provides a whole new look at the passion, nuance and characters of women cycling in a new way.

Trial by Giro is out now on GCN+. Watch on-demand and explore our extensive collection of exclusive and original cycling films.
