Josh Tarling is a British professional cyclist who currently rides for Ineos Grenadiers.

A multi-disciplinary force, Tarling has been a sensation both on the track and the road for several years. The Welshman finished runner-up in the 2021 World Championships Junior Time Trial event and went unbeaten in every TT he rode afterwards at Junior level.

Recognising his talents, Ineos Grenadiers announced the acquisition of Tarling from FlandersColor Galloo when he was just 18 years of age, with the rider from Ceredigion, Wales, joining the British squad as of 1 January 2023.

Similar to many of the young British riders from his generation, Tarling spoke of having watched Team Sky (as they were known) throughout his youth, with a dream of one day riding for the team.

His dreams came true at Etoile de Bessèges in February 2023, in which he made his debut for the WorldTeam and did not take long to impress. Tarling finished runner-up to Mads Pedersen on the final day individual time trial and would earn plenty of plaudits throughout the spring for his performances on behalf of his teammates.

Tarling has made a habit of combining his WorldTour calendar with British time trials and the continuation of his blossoming track career, but his first professional victory came at the British National Championships. Beating away competition from fellow WorldTour pros, Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious) and Connor Swift (Ineos Grenadiers), Tarling became the British national time trial champion over the 41km-long course.

His reputation on the time trial bike was only heightened by his ride two months later at the World Championships, in which he finished with a bronze medal in the elite time trial, behind Filippo Ganna (Italy) and winner, Remco Evenepoel (Belgium).

After taking his second professional victory at the Renewi Tour, Tarling took the biggest win of his career to date at the European Championships, taking the white, blue and gold jersey in the elite time trial.

Tarling is contracted with Ineos Grenadiers until the end of 2025.
