Except that actually, he’s not as good as this guy. Mini Sven, his son, Thibaut Nys, taking what his Dad showed him, and then doing it better! We also learned this week that Lance Armstrong is back racing again. Yes, you heard, Lance is back, at the epic La Ruta De Los Conquistadores mountain bike stage race. To those of you worried that he is violating his ban, don’t be, the race isn’t under WADA jurisdiction. It got us thinking about cycling’s relationships with cheating. Is there some skewed logic in cycling that almost justifies this kind of shortcuts, because even when you don’t break the rules, even when you are the most law-abiding bike racer ever, there is still an element to which cycling rewards you when you’re devious, dishonourable, underhand.
