The biggest stage race in North America is growing in stature every year, and this is reflected by the number of big names on the start list in 2014. 2012 Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins, former World Champion Mark Cavendish and Peter Sagan, who currently holds the record for most stage wins at this race with 10.
Contesting Sagan and Cavendish in the sprints will be the likes of Gent-Wevelgem champ John Degenkolb and Belkin's Moreno Hofland Home fans will look for Taylor Phinney to perform in Folsom on Stage 2, while lesser-known riders like Tao Geoghegan Hart will hope this race offers a chance to show what they can do.
